U.S. flag, Maryland Belgian relief, WWI

Sub-collection: Star Spangled Banner Flag House

This Maryland flag was presented to W. Melbourne Hart (father of Alfred I. Hart) for services rendered in Belgian relief work during World War I. It came from a ship launched from the Port of Baltimore to carry food stuffs to Europe in a program under Herbert Hoover's direction.
