This Maryland flag was presented to W. Melbourne Hart (father of Alfred I. Hart) for services rendered in Belgian relief work during World War I. It came from a ship launched from the Port of Baltimore to carry food stuffs to Europe in a program under Herbert Hoover's direction.
A noteworthy artifact from the Star Spangled Banner Flag House Collection.
