This pattern was described by the leading herald in Britain's College of Arms as "one of the most note-worthy departures in national flag design in modern times." It avoids the traditional forms -- canton, central badge, horizontal or vertical stripes, etc. It is bold, easily recognizable, and simple.
The "Golden Arrowhead" recalls the native Indian inhabitants and the thrust forward to a golden future for Guyana. The red triangle represents steadfastness in seeking national development. Green is for fields and rain forests; white for rivers and lakes. Yellow stands for mineral wealth and black suggests endurance.
This desk flag is mounted on a 10.5" staff with finial. See also ZFC1226 for more information.
