Souvenir pennant for a Royal visit by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip.
By the time of HM Queen Elizabeth's accession, post-war England was looking forward optimistically to a period of prosperity for the Comonwealth. The new monarch was eagerly welcomed into her role as England prepared for a second Elizabethan era. In 1954 she and HRH Prince Philip embarked upon a series of high-profile visits to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand with stops in Ceylon and MAlta. The response to these visits showed that the new queen's popularity extended beyond Britain to other territories within the Commonwealth.
