Sub-collection: Cities & State of USAText printed on hoist : "NYL-GLO 100% Nylon Bunting Annin. & Co Verona ..." Either the 8th or 9th flag of the collection in 1975. Acquired by Howard Mechanic (alias Gary Tredway) of Tempe, Arizona. Knowing of Ben's new interest of collecting flags Howard/Gary sent Ben this flag. When it was flown at the home at 224 Woodrow Ave. people would stop on the street and guess that the flag must be from some communist country they could not quiet remember. Arizona of course is one of the most politcally conservative states in the union so it was ironic to here those comments. It was the rays and the brown star that made some people think that.
