US // American Organists Gulid / Flag Pins & Nametag

This is a collection of 27 international celluloid pins all made by Bastain Brothers Co. of Rochester NY used at a convention of the American Organist Guild.
The purpose of the American Guild of Organists is to promote the organ in its historic and evolving roles, to encourage excellence in the performance of organ and choral music, and to provide a forum for mutual support, inspiration, education, and certification of Guild members.
Membership in the American Guild of Organists is primarily through local chapters, which hold regular meetings featuring performances, lectures, seminars, and discussions on a wide variety of topics. Many chapters also offer monthly newsletters, scholarship programs, musician placement services, and substitute referrals to employing institutions. Membership can also be without chapter affiliation.
These 27 international pins were presumably those nations represented at the 1st regional Convention, held in New York City, May 23 to 26, 1949; and were collected by attendee Hugh S. Campbell, who preserved them on a piece of green felt, along with his own name tag. The nations represented by the pins are:
