Texas Novelty Flag with Alamo overprint.

Sub-collection: U.S. Novelty Flags

Texas Novelty Flag with Alamo overprint.
This is an unofficial 3' x 5' polyester novelty flag. It is entirely out of compliance with Texas statutes and was in all likely hood mad offshore. These overprinted flag have become very popular in tourist destinations.

A well-known flag provides the background - United States, Confederate States, Texas or Pirates - and then something in overprinted to either increase or focus the flags marketability. In this example it is the iconic image of the Texas shrine and birthplace of Texan independence, The Alamo.

Provenance: Acquired in 2008 by purchase.
