German // Army Medical Corps Major / Epaulets
Little is known about the history of these epaulets; they were acquired as a GI bringback at auction in 1999. In the German Army field grade officers majors and colonels are still distinguished by interwoven bullion epaulets. Medical officers wear the staff of Asclepius as an insignia of the medical branch.
