Japan // National Flag / WWII Era
Little is known about the history of this flag; it was acquired as a GI bringback at auction in 1999 as a Good Luck Flags (Hinomaru Yosegaki). Japanese soldiers often carried mementoes to bring them good luck. The most well known, and perhaps most common was the autographed flag. These were called Good Luck flags or hinomaru yosegaki in Japanese.
