D-Day // Pointe du Hoc
This steel rebar was taken from the ruins of a former concrete gun emplacement at Point du Hoc over looking Utah and Omaha Beaches in Normandy, France with a clear view of the English Channel. These concrete bunkers or pill boxes were heavily fortified with steel rebar making the concrete strong enough to withstand direct hits from naval guns up to 16 inches in diameter.
