US // Woman's Suffrage / Banner
ZFC3240 - Woman's Suffrage Headquarters Banner - The movement for woman suffrage was an integral part of the American landscape from the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 until the passage of the 19th Amendment to the US constitution in 1920. Banners, like this huge example, were ironically directed at male voters, in order for them to vote for "VOTES FOR WOMEN." Ultimately, these banners were successful, and woman suffrage was achieved gradually, locally at first and then regionally.
