The United States Marine Corps flags are distinguished by their use of red for the background color of most of their colors, flags and guidons. The most significant flags in this grouping are a 1951 shipboard made flag for the Commandant General Clifton Bledsoe Cates; and the personal flag for Brigadier General Alexander Vandergrift who would later receive the Medal of Honor at Guadalcanal.
Also included in this Grouping is a WWII era Australian made Guadalcanal pennant intended fro sale to recuperating U.S. Marines; a Fleet Marine Force guidon with accompanying copy of unit photograph, and other U.S. Marine Corps insignia and ephemera.
